Geographical Significance

Spanning an area of approximately 96 square kilometers, this panchayat is surrounded by scenic hills and mountains. Located close to the Panniyar and Chenkulam power houses, this region is highly suitable for agriculture (primarily cardamom, pepper, and coffee) and tourism.

Konnathady U.P. (Upper Primary) School has played a major role in the developmental history of the panchayat. The school was established on land donated by Mr. K.C. Chacko, a prominent early settler of the region.
